I want to know what gets you through life… when all your concepts, all your theories don’t work. When everything that society has ever taught you about life seems like a joke. When you are completely helpless. When you go around from one place to another for inspiration but absolutely nothing works.
I want to know what gets you through life when your marvelous achievements, your social status, money…all the things that society prescribed you for happiness don’t work? Where do you get the strength?
I want to know what gets you through life when even spirituality cannot help you. When all the books in your library can’t make you feel secure. When even an uninterrupted free internet connection cannot help you.
What happens when people’s masks fall off? I want to know what got you through life when you discovered that the person you idolized is a hypocrite? How do you react when you witness the good side of a person who you thought was bad? Or vice versa? When you see evil inside your own self? What happens to you?
I want to know what gets you through life when nothing rational, where nothing from the outside world is helping you. Where do you find the strength?
I want to know what gets you through life when what you have learned cannot help you. When beautiful memories cannot heal you.
Your reaction to the above is who you are because pain reveals you. Everything else is constructed, calculated and orchestrated.
P.S. This is a cheap rip off of Ted Hughes’s letter to his son.
