I’m a detective.

I have taken up only one case till date but to solve this case, I have to solve every other case that exists… not just on this planet but also in the entire universe.

The case is: Who am I?

To solve this mystery, I have to solve the case of God. Does he (it is mostly ‘he,’ isn’t it?) exist? If yes, then where can we find him? If there is no God, then what is the nature of reality? Why are we here? How did we end up here? Is there an absolute good or evil? Do we have free-will? Can a human being be objective? What is the relationship between the mind and the world? Is there any ‘I’ in the first place? I was initially a believer because of conditioning. I became a militant atheist after noticing the contradictions. But now, I’m an agnostic (Click).  I am investigating different point of views from a distance: Neuroscience, Western Philosophy, Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, Sufism, Iskcon, Brahmakumaris, Christianity, Psychology, Spiritual leaders like J. Krishnamurti, U.G. Krishnamurti, Alan Watts, Eckhart Tolle etc (note: I’m not an expert in any religions or works). I will listen to anybody who claims to know something about our existence (not just authorities).

To solve this mystery I have to know who YOU are. Hence, I investigate human behavior (I even experiment on myself). I am investigating the nature of ego. Examples of experiments that I have been doing in this area are:

  1. Deliberately putting myself in situations where I will be insulted (to see how the other person and I react),
  2. Saying ‘yes’ to everything that comes my way for a prescribed period of time (ego loves saying ‘no’), observing people’s mind games and my own mind games with myself,
  3. Trusting someone completely to see if my belief can change the outer reality.Deliberately giving more money to the shopkeeper to see if he takes advantage of the situation.  Does my belief about his character influence his decision to cheat or to not cheat me?
  4. When I’m sick, I try to investigate the connection between mind and body. Can thoughts influence my health?

I am a detective but I don’t want to be a secluded seeker. I want to engage with the world. I would love to be a part of people’s dreams. We all are a part of this mystery. Hence, my investigations are not limited to things inside me (I do meditate). I experiment in real time practical situations at workplace, shopping malls etc.

Because you see, every small detail is connected to the bigger picture.

I’m Satyanveshi…seeker of truth. This blog is documentation of my investigations.

Thanks for stopping by!
